UNIX Administrator
Security Clearance: DOD Interim Secret as a minimum
Citizenship: US
Education: A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering
from an accredited college or university; or, eight years of combined education (at the undergraduate level in any academic field) and experience performing the foregoing functions.
Experience: A total of at least 10 years of experience with Sun Solaris systems. At least 3 years of the foregoing total experience shall have been as a team leader or supervisor.
Required Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification (i.e., Solaris/Sun, Linux+, Server+, etc.)
Position Requirements:
UNIX Administrator - GFEBS: Candidate will install, configure,
administer, tune, and optimize UNIX systems and related components to achieve high availability,
stability and performance for the various business applications supported. Will implement
major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures are implemented and followed.
- 10 – 15 years system administration on SUN Solaris 10 Operating System
- Experience with installing/configuring Solaris zones/containers/domains to include memory capping
- Ability to write complex shell scripts (BASH, KSH, PERL, etc) to automate daily tasks and maintain security-hardening efforts for Information Assurance
- Configuration and sustainment of Solaris Volume Manager (SVM)
- Symantec Storage Foundation is a plus
- Installation of Symantec Netbackup client software and follow-on configuration
- Ability to install/configure Sun cluster management software
- Experience with following servers: SUN: M5000, V490/890, T2000; HP: DL380/580
- Comply with established support process and procedures to include Information Assurance guidelines
- Reports weekly status to relevant team leads and performs proactive measures to identify and resolve system problems
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, system tuning, and SAP/Oracle database administration
- Ability to maintain a Sun Cluster environment to include internal failover and Disaster Recovery incidents
- Assists with physical data center infrastructure setup and maintenance such as copper/fiber cabling, rack setup, etc.
- Comply with and maintain operational procedures
